The solar power project was installed at Interloop Parking Shed. Interloop’s sustainability framework is based on the triple bottom line approach i.e. People, Planet and Prosperity. As part of Interloop’s #Vision2025 rollout, they are working towards a target of 25% GHG emission reduction by the fall of 2026 through an investment in and large-scale rollout of renewable and clean energy.
Interloop was purely dependent on gas-fueled captive power plants. Therefore, due to the expected price hike in gas tariffs, Nishat textiles partnered with Reon for solar installation to reduce the energy cost of their current energy mix.
One of the main objectives of Interloop behind this project was that of ‘Achieving Green Energy Targets’ to obtain LEED Certification.
On the way to achieving their goal, Interloop has installed a 1.9 MW Solar Power Project in their parking shed, which is underway and set to be completed by next month. By installing the Solar Power Plant, Interloop will also achieve a Levelized cost leading to 20% of savings vs. on Genset.
