Solar Power Project: 378 kW

Location: Karachi, Sindh, Pakistan

Reon Energy joined forces with Tapal Tea, one of Pakistan’s most renowned tea brands, to embark on a journey towards a greener future. Tapal Tea chose to lead by example and make a tangible impact on the environment by partnering with Reon for the installation of an on-grid solar system.

The initial project, sizing 125 kW, was installed at their rooftop in Korangi and was soon followed by an even larger project of 253 kW. Despite the challenges posed by the partial lockdown during the installation phase, the team at Reon rose to the occasion and successfully delivered the project, with strict adherence to Covid-19 protocols for employee welfare.

The plant features state-of-the-art 440W modules mounted on a Z-support structure, and is expected to generate 430 MWh of energy annually, reducing carbon emissions by 265 tonnes. The majority of the energy generated is consumed in the tea manufacturing process, with the excess units traded off through net metering.

This project is a testament to Tapal Tea’s commitment to sustainability and a shining example of the incredible things that can be achieved when innovative companies and renewable energy experts join forces.
