In 2018, Matco Foods made a landmark decision by partnering with Reon to take the first steps towards a sustainable future. With the installation of a 413 kW solar power project at its facility, Matco Foods set out to reduce its reliance on non-renewable power sources and secure a backup source of energy for its operations.
This rooftop system, one of Reon’s most challenging installations in the South region and the first of its kind for a food brand, produces a staggering 615,039 kWh of energy annually. With this renewable source of energy, Matco Foods is able to offset carbon emissions by 378.2 tonnes, equivalent to planting 15,376 trees.
This project marks a pivotal moment in Matco Foods’ journey towards a greener future and serves as a testament to Reon’s engineering prowess and commitment to creating sustainable solutions.
